Great Horned Guardian: A Poem by Don

Your call came to us in the first moonlight
Drifting down from the tops of the trees

You are the Great Hunter and ruler of the night
Your soothing tones brought us peace

We had come to honor the Great Mother
You graciously shared your land

She sent you to us feathered brother
To protect and watch over our clan

Your service Great Horned One will be remembered in prayer
For you carry a powerful spirit

Your soothing, peaceful voice drifting through the night air
We shall think on these nights when we hear it
