I Give Homage: A Poem by Bryan

I give homage now to the gods who I had not remembered but who had remembered and called onto me.
They who dwell in the great beyond while nearest to the land.
Of great skill, poetry, purpose, and balance they are.
Theirs is the wisdom of the great order and patterns of life.
To them is known all of their making and to them nothing is known of displacement.
They are as masters; teachers and guides they have let me walk among them and learn of the secrets they share not often.
Many it seems with names I know and know not have blessed with intimate bonding of the spirit.

Lord of the hidden glen, master of the forests and all it's children.
I sought you as a child, eyes wide with mystery and waking misted memory.
I called to you before I knew your name.
I marveled at your strength before I could meet your gaze.
I recalled your voice before I recognized it's source.
You have run with me on countless wooded hunts.
Playing at the rim of my vision.
You beckoned me in challenging courage.
Testing and imparting me with wisdom of your being.
Your children of the forest took notice and shared with me their crafts.
From you I have been given the strength of my religion, my knowledge, and my Truth of all that is.
I am wild, crafty, and strong in your house.

There is no place of 'one' to be set by you.
Yours is the seats and authority of numberless Masters.
Shining skill and succession in all areas are your tributes.
The sun shines with blinding glory at your roaring laughter.
Sharp be the Summer winds that bring wisdom with a deadly edge.
High upon the most winded mountain you found me in heated victory.
I called to you with the voice of every ancestor.
Wit came as a weapon unmatched to be doubled with skill and grace of body, mind, and trade.
My glow is as your sun rays upon me.
You hoist me up on lofty shoulders, entering into what ever may come with the image of the hero eternal.
Focus comes as a spear, flawlessly aimedĘ from a cauldron of bubbling abundance.
I enter into life with the vigor of one trained to work the patterns of life and skillfully attain victory in all arenas.
Praises be onto thee, the sun faced, winged warrior of wit!
Guide me Lugh of the heated noon into untrammeled skill and courage.
